The transaction sent using Zcash network is transparent and shielded. The transparent payment scheme used by Bitcoin is combined with shielded payment scheme by using zero-knowledge succinct non-interactive arguments of knowledge (zk-SNARKs).The network is secured by the Proof-of-Work (PoW) SHA-256 algorithms which is similar to Bitcoin.
