Liquidity protocol for earning interest on deposits and borrowing assets
Aave is a Finnish word that means ghost, which describes the anonymity of the network. Aave is an open source, decentralized finance (DeFi) protocol. This platform allows users to deposit and earn interest by providing liquidity to the market. It also allows users to borrow digital assets. Borrowing can be in either over-collateral or under-collateral. Other than that it also introduces flash loan, which is the first ‘no-collateral required’ loan in the DeFi space.
AAVE is the token used in the Aave platform. Holders of AAVE get discounted fees when they use the platform. It also serves as a governance token, giving holders voting rights for future development of the protocol.
