Arweave is a decentralized storage network that powered low cost permanent data storage. This makes secure, reliable and immutable data storage is possible on a decentralised network protocol. It allows users to preserve valuable information, hence preventing others from rewriting it. The permaweb is a community-owned web build on top of Arweave network, which all of its contents are permanent, able to be retrieved quickly, and fully decentralized.
Arweave is built on four core technologies to create low cost, high-throughput, permanent storage on a new blockchain. These innovations are; blockchain-like data structure called Blockweave, consensus mechanism called Proof of Access, self-optimising network topology called wildfire and flexible size transaction block distribution, Blockshadows.
AR is Arweave network's native cryptocurrency. It is used to pay miners for storing network's information.
