Hive is a decentralised blockchain and ecosystem that is built for Web3. It differentiates itself with other blockchain by being fast, scalable and powerful. Hive is able to complete tranactions in less than 3 seconds compared to few minutes in other blockchains, and is scalable through future proof resource-bandwidth & storage system, and have been tested for more than 5 years by hundreds of apps, communities and projects around the world. Originally, Hive was created through forking from Steem blockchain, which initially have been burdened by the influence of Steemit Inc.

Hive network consists of two different cryptocurrencies named HIVE and Hive Backed Dollar (HBD). HIVE is the currency in the Hive ecosystem, which can be traded, bought, sold and staked. Meanwhile, HBD is meant to be a stable currency which is pegged 1 to 1 with the US dollars. HIVE does not have a maximum supply, however its inflation rate decreases by 0.01% for every 250 thousand blocks.
