PAX Gold (PAXG) is a digital asset, built on Ethereum that is backed by real physical gold. PAXG addresses the issue of the current gold market where storing physical gold can be expensive and non-fungible, while trading on ETFs does not guarantee ownership of the gold. PAX introduces a tokenised version of gold, where users can own fractionalised gold through PAXG token, trade them and redeem for real physical gold. PAXG is also decentralised as it is recorded on Ethereum blockchain. There is around 179 thousand PAXG available in circulation.
