A privacy-enabled blockchain platform for open finance and a responsible data economy
What is Oasis Network?
Oasis Network is a layer-1 blockchain network that provides confidentiality, scalability and versatility. There are two main components in Oasis Network which are the Consensus Layer and the ParaTime layer. The Consensus Layer is a scalable consensus run by validator nodes, using proof of stake mechanism. The ParaTime layer represents parallel computing environment in a shared state. The separation between consensus mechanism and computing power presents a better scalability and versatility to the network. The main feature of Oasis Network is its ParaTime layer. It allows for a parallel computation to process different transactions. At the same time, any developers can establish their own ParaTime layer for specific applications, therefore providing confidentiality and privacy.
The native token within Oasis Network is the ROSE token. It is used as transaction fees, staking and node delegations for the Consensus Layer. There is a maximum supply of 10 billion ROSE tokens. During the initial launch, there were 1.5 billion tokens in circulation.
